The episode hyped up the Maddie vs. Kalani aspect (it was even called "Maddie vs. Kalani") but sadly, it was the moms who seemed more at odds.

Picking up where we left off last week, Dance Moms Season 5 Episode 15 saw the ALDC prepare to battle Erin Babbs and the Murietta Dance Project (MDP).

They straight up whomped Abby and her charges the last time the two groups met up, so it’s either payback time or … whomping time all over again.

You can bet that the weight of the situation is not lost on Abby Lee Miller, or on Erin Babbs, who is basically like the West Coast Cathy Nesbitt-Stein.

Oh it’s ON now … and not just between Abby and Erin. If you watch Dance Moms online, you know the titular moms are often at each other’s throats.

Specifically in this case, Jill and Holly.

At issue is the fact that Maddie Ziegler, Mackenzie Ziegler and Kendall got to hang out with Todrick, a director slash choreographer slash web sensation.

Nia wasn’t invited, but saw an Instagram post about it and was pretty crushed. Since Holly can’t take it out her rage on Abby, she goes after Jill instead.

It’s really ugly, and Holly does not come across well. Fortunately, the next day they are able to move on, or at least behave in a more civilized manner.

Still, it’s clear that Holly isn’t over the fact that Abby’s invested in Kendall, while Jill is loving every minute of it. Also loving it? Abby, the puppet master.

For someone who claims to hate all this mama drama, she stirs the pot like no other and probably benefits when they turn on one another, not her.

Diabolical, if you think about it.

Finally, it’s competition time, and winning has a way of making everyone feel better. Kalani’s solo earns her second place, and Maddie Ziegler takes first.

MDP comes in third in the group portion, while the ALDC takes the top prize, leading Erin Babbs to flip her s–t, point fingers and shift blame.

Strong leadership.
